Renaire Frierson, JD
Renaire Frierson most recently served as Executive Director of the Nassau County Commission on Human Rights in Mineola, NY from 2001 until she assumed her present role as Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion Training and Executive Recruitment for Todd Mitchell Associates.
As the first African American woman Executive Director, Ms. Frierson’s responsibilities included the oversight of Nassau County’s law enforcement agency for complaints of discrimination of employment as well as housing and public accommodation. Ms. Frierson has conducted training seminars, workshops and forums on the topics of diversity, inclusion, equal employment opportunity, harmonious inter-group relations, the American with Disabilities Act. She has been a panelist for the Nassau County Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education program on minorities.
Ms. Frierson’s education includes a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University.
Renaire is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Legal Studies at Nassau Community College. Additionally, she is a New York State Unified Court System Certified mediator. She is admitted to practice within the courts of New York State, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, The United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Renaire is also a member of the Nassau County and New York Bar Associations, Women’s Bar Association of New York State and Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association.

Diversity and Inclusion Training Division
The concept of Diversity and Inclusion is not new. Initially, Diversity training in the United States was a response to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s and was called “sensitivity” training. The goal was to increase sensitivity to the effects of racial inequity. In the late 1980’s and the 90’s businesses all over the country used Diversity training to protect against civil rights lawsuits. Sensitivity training in corporate America changed over time as Affirmative Action laws were curtailed by the Federal Government into what is now known as Diversity training. Workforce diversity and inclusion policies and practices seek to INCLUDE in the workforce employees who are considered to be in some way, “different” from those in the prevailing constituency.
Companies who have experienced diversity training seminars have found the programs for managing diversity to be successful. Further, studies have shown that diversity management facilitates better working relationships among employees, reduces costs, increases productivity and boosts the bottom line; creating an organizational culture that respects and welcomes ALL employees regardless of gender, race, age, ethnic background or sexual orientation. No company can afford to unnecessarily restrict its ability to attract, retain and ACHIEVE the greatest return available from its employees.
